A few weeks back, I reviewed the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra-Matte Liquid Lip Color I purchased, and I can honestly say that I’m just as obsessed with this highlighter!

With the contouring/strobing craze, highlighters are a dime a dozen nowadays. However, many are powdery, too sheer, have a weird undertone, or don’t stay on well – so finding a good one can still be a challenge.

I’m so glad I ordered this Star Powder in Grace, because I lucked out with the quality!

Guerlain’s Carousel Meteorites are a Magical Ride

After the way I gushed about Guerlain’s Holiday Meteorites, you can probably tell how obsessed I am with them. I did, after all, mention that I collect them, and I have to say that my collection is growing quite nicely!

What’s not to love about meteorites? Let’s be real – there’s nothing more luxurious than using a product that incorporates ‘Stardust Technology’ into its formula!

What is Stardust Technology? The brand says that it’s a pigment encapsulating a diamond powder. Knowing that, it’s almost easy to justify the price point! ?

Not to mention, each meteorite Pearl is hand-formed, and only four people in the world know how to make them.

Meteorites aren’t just makeup, they’re little collectible pieces of luxury, meant to adorn a counter or vanity like the fine art they are.

Now that I’ve waxed poetic about them enough, let’s discuss the latest iteration: Guerlain Carousel Meteorites Pearls for Summer 2016!

I’m Rocking Tom Ford Lately

“I don’t pop Molly, I rock Tom Ford..” – so true, haha.

While in Austin, I visited a Tom Ford counter at Nordstrom, and saw this beauty sitting out on display front and center. I’ve played around with Tom Ford products at counters before, but to be totally honest, sticker shock and employee intimidation have always kept me from purchasing.

Every time I talk to the SA’s, I feel like they kind of think they’re humoring me. I don’t always look like the typical ‘luxury’ client, pushing a crazy toddler in a stroller with my day-two hair in a bun, but I still like to be treated well when I’m planning on dropping some serious dollars on their products.

This time was no different, but fortunately, I took the plunge anyway!

I’m Picking Up Good Vibrations

Fast side note – your mid-twenties are a really strange time, my friends. If you’ve been there, you know what I’m talking about, and if you haven’t, here’s what’s coming:

You don’t really know what’s ‘cool’ anymore. At least, not right away. I can’t keep up with which videos went viral this week, what dance everyone is doing now, or all the millions of new apps that rise to fame and fizzle out every couple of weeks. The things that defined my childhood are totally different than the technology driven world today’s teens have been raised in, so when I write posts with titles like ‘I’m Picking Up Good Vibrations’, I’m hoping that the Beach Boys have spanned enough generations that I don’t alienate my audience.

You also don’t feel super adult-like. Sure, I have a toddler, a mortgage, a car note, and have to make my own doctors appointments now, but I’m still not a Grown Up, right?

It’s a weird age. But makeup makes the transition a little bit easier! ? That I know, and that I can keep up with.

Now that I’ve let you all in on my quarter life crisis, let’s get down to business!

Live From Austin!

Austin is one of my favorite places in the whole world! The food is great, the people are friendly, and the shopping is outstanding. I’ll take any excuse I can find to come up here for a day (or ten) to chill around the city.

Guerlain Meteorites Have Me Seeing Stars

image

I seriously cannot stop drooling over these!

I collect Meteorites anyway, (casually, but I’m hoping to be able to get each limited edition release in the future) but these really take the cake.

The packaging is indescribably beautiful. It looks like a snow globe, which brings to mind instant holiday nostalgia. It also takes my makeup obsession full-circle – I collected snow globes as a child, too! When you remove the top, you’ll find a cute puff covering the pearls, with a convenient mirror in the top portion of the lid.

The star shaped meteorites here are just gorgeous, and have an ethereal, pearly iridescence. The other pearls seen are in shimmery shades of blush, copper, champagne and gold. As usual, they are delicately scented and versatile in application. The puff can be used for all-over complexion brightening, or you can use the meteorites brush to apply as a subtle highlighter.

But let’s be honest here- who is really going to touch these beauties? I’m off to put them on my vanity with their other Meteorite brothers and sisters now!
