Heyyyyyy night owls (or early birds – I see you, overseas readers!) ☺️
Tonight, I present to you the final – for now – installment in my mini- color correcting series! We’ll be chatting about Marc Jacobs’ Cover(t) Stick Color Corrector, which is shown here in shade Co(vert) Affairs.
We’ve all heard of Yves Saint Laurent’s famous, award-winning Touché Eclat (Touch of Light), but have you ever thought you may need a Touch of Bright? Enter YSL’s beautifully packaged Touché Eclat Neutralizer in Violet!
So, as I mentioned in my last post, I’m doing a mini-series centered around color correcting, and tonight I want to cast the spotlight on Algenist’s miraculous Reveal Color Correcting Drops!
Now, I want to put a disclaimer here: the cute mini bottles you see above are not available for purchase from Sephora, but are available for $20 each (or $65 for the set) directly from Algenist’s website. However, each can be purchased at Sephora individually in it’s full-size form, which retails at $38 for .5 oz.
Since you’ve got the specifics, lets talk about Algenist as a brand: They’re first and foremost a skincare brand that hails from San Francisco, whose products are formulated using microalgae for advanced anti-aging. So, how did that translate into color correcting?
I’ve been thinking about doing a color correcting series since all 2.5 million Spring launches of them, but haven’t yet gotten around to it. What better time than the present?!
We’ll start out with one of my faves as of late, which is the Lancôme Miracle CC Cushion in 03 Pinky Peach. This color is made to brighten under eye darkness and hyperpigmentation- and boy does it deliver!
Kylie Cosmetics (do we talk about anything else here?) recently launched four new lipgloss shades- coordinating colors for her matte lip kits in Exposed, Posie K, Candy K, and Koko K. Before those start circulating around the web, I thought it was time to talk about her original lipgloss launch!
A few weeks back, I reviewed the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra-Matte Liquid Lip Color I purchased, and I can honestly say that I’m just as obsessed with this highlighter!
With the contouring/strobing craze, highlighters are a dime a dozen nowadays. However, many are powdery, too sheer, have a weird undertone, or don’t stay on well – so finding a good one can still be a challenge.
I’m so glad I ordered this Star Powder in Grace, because I lucked out with the quality!
Okay, I know I’m showing my age when I reference viral videos from a few months ago as if they’re still topical ?. I just couldn’t pass up that title!
It puts me in a good mood to get a great deal on makeup. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of BOGO 50% off drugstore lipsticks, but it still gives me a thrill to find luxury beauty on a Maybelline budget.
With the fast-approaching arrival of Urban Decay’s new Alice in Wonderland launch (coming May 2nd), some of the Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani products went on sale to clear shelf space for all the newness headed our way. Amongst the clearance were the lipsticks, liners, blush palette, and brow powder duo. As far as I’m aware, the eyeshadow palette will remain on shelves, at least for a while.
Since I had already purchased a couple of the products, I picked up the two lipsticks that I’d been eyeing since the second part of the Gwen Stefani collab launched.
The Peach Palette craze has been REAL around here, you guys! ??? Clients ask for it every day, even though my local Sephora (and Ulta too, I think) isn’t scheduled to receive any more. Is that to say we’ll never see it again? Not at all!
I have full faith behind the idea that there will be more produced, or that the palette will be made all-together permanent. A little like Champagne Pop, if you will! ?
A few weeks ago, I previewed on Instagram a box of things I ordered from Gerard Cosmetics when they had their anniversary sale. I’ve seen the company all over the blogosphere, but never tried anything personally. The sale was amazing (!), so I decided to purchase a traditional lipstick, highlighter, brow kit, and this liquid lipstick from Gerard’s Hydra-Matte line.
The name itself sounds counter-intuitive, doesn’t it? I mean, is it hydrating, or is it matte? I can’t tell you how many times a day a client asks me for a lipstick that “stays all day but doesn’t dry my lips out” and I’m like, call me when you find one!
Turns out, the name is perfect for this product, and it does everything I’ve ever wanted a lipstick to do.
Long time no talk, everybody! Okay, it hasn’t been more than a week, but it feels like an eternity! Totally not the way I wanted to start April.
Not that there’s an excuse, but my son’s birthday party is at the end of the month, my wedding is in 6 1/2 weeks, we just got a puppy this week (he’s amazing) and are looking to put our home on the market in June. There’s so much happening! Normally I write at night when my son is in bed, but lately I’ve been passing out on the couch around this time.
Not tonight! Tonight I want to share Kourt K with you, the newest lip kit from King Kylie. If you’d like to check out the reviews for any other color first, click here. If you’re already all caught up, read on!
