Not that we ever need an excuse, but I feel like this weekend is a great time to pop some bubbly! I’ll be celebrating something big – I’m going back to school this fall, and my first day is Monday! I haven’t been in school in 6 years, and am so excited for this big change. I’ll still be working on the weekends, (because who could give up being a Sephora girl?) but with Fridays free and clear to focus solely on my kiddo.
What more appropriate way to celebrate than by dusting on Becca X Jaclyn Hill’s Champagne Pop Cheek Palette?!
Highlighters and blushes are my weakness. I mean, literally, sometimes I see a new blush compact and get weak the knees thinking about how perfect it’ll be in my collection!
You know the drill: let’s talk about packaging! The throwaway box is gold with white details, but the palette itself is opposite. It’s gorgeous, almost like a piece of jewelry! The lacquered case is white and has silver and gold foiled confetti dots decorating the surface. It has a substantial weight, and feels just as luxurious as a collectors piece should! The interior is all gold as well, with a generously sized mirror in the lid.
To make things easy, my first blog post last year was a review of the Champagne Pop highlighter when it originally launched. Check that out to see if this peachy illuminator is something that piques your interest!
Prosecco Pop is Champagne’s golden sister – ideal for those with a warm undertone, or for anyone who wants a gilded glow wherever they go! Honestly, it leans a little yellow for my fair pink skin, but I’ve totally made it work as an eyeshadow or bridge-of-the-nose highlight.
What im mostly obsessed with here is the top left blush shade, Rose Spritz! This is my kind of blush: pinky-coral, shimmery, and as pigmented as they come! It’s gorgeous on light to medium skintones that want a pop of color, and don’t mind totally glistening cheeks.
For anyone who likes a goddess glow, but wants to pair that with a subtle neutral blush, Amaretto is your new go-to! It’s warm and punchy, but looks more bronze than orange when blended out on the skin. It’s pigmented enough to show up on all skintones, which is a major plus for such a neutral shade!
Lastly, we have Pamplemousse. This color is perfect on medium to deep skin! Lighter skin can pull it off as well, but because it’s so pigmented, it would require a fan brush and a lot of blending. This medium-dark pink is so beautiful, and has a gorgeous satin finish to boot!
Alright, now here comes the bad news: this palette was extremely limited edition. Unfortunately, it’s only available now on resale/auction sites. There is a bright side, though- when the palette sold out, Becca came out with a new product: Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duos!
They’re available in Champagne Pop/Flowerchild, Champagne Pop/Hyacinth, Prosecco Pop/Amaretto, and Prosecco Pop/Pamplemousse! Champagne Pop is also a permanent item that can be purchased as a single highlighter at any time.
This means that if you act fast, you can still get every color that was part of the palette, except Rose Spritz unfortunately. Make sure to hurry, though! The duos are also very limited edition, so grab them fast from sephora.com!
