Good evening! Or morning, depending on where you are in the world. (:
A lot of my readers come from the US, but the vast majority of both my stateside and overseas readers are not from Texas.
To give you the scoop – growing up in Texas, sometime around elementary school or junior high, you’re grouped into a very important distinction of one of two categories – you’re either a Longhorn, or you’re an Aggie.
Don’t care about football? Oh well. Planning on going to a college other than the University of Texas or A&M? So what. Never even been to Austin or College Station? Doesn’t matter!
In case you’re wondering, I give roughly zero f*cks about football, but since my 7th grade crush was a Longhorns fan, I was too! I had lots of UT gear and several burnt orange shirts for school spirit days, where all you saw was a sea of that and Aggie maroon.
The first thing I thought when I saw 22 on my lips was, damn! Middle school LeAnn would’ve killed for this color!
Just like all the others, (reviews can be found here) the formula is exceedingly smooth and long-wearing. It’s decadent, lightweight, and totally comfortable to wear. I’m really loving my growing collection of these lipsticks, and having a hard time wearing anything else lately!
22 is an ideal office orange because it’s not neon at all. It has just the right amount of neutrality to slide by your boss’ radar, while still being on-trend.
The way I really picture this wonderfully dusty color being rocked is with a lace dress and sandals, or paired with wide-legged slacks and platforms for a truly 70’s look that isn’t over done.
That being said, there are no hard-and-fast makeup rules! Wear what you want, when you want, and you’ll still slay everyone as long as you feel beautiful.
Are you planning on picking up 22? What about the new shade, Kourt K, that Kylie previewed on her instagram (@kyliecosmetics) yesterday?
I can’t wait for that color to be released! Let me know if you’re excited too in the comments!
