The partnership continues! In case you missed it, I reviewed the Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette after its December launch, and this blush palette is my newest purchase from the Urban/Gwen collaboration.
While ‘blush palette’ is the official descriptor, Urban Decay’s website says that it contains blush, bronzer, and highlighter. I have some mixed feelings about that claim, though. On my fair skin tone, everything here definitely qualifies as a blush, except Lo-Fi, which could absolutely be used as a bronzer. Deeper skin tones could perhaps use Angel or Hush as highlighters, but I really don’t see anything in this palette doing a whole lot of strobing!
That petty difference in opinion aside, I really love pretty much everything about this product. The packaging is cute, the pan sizes are generous, and there is a nice amount of color variety. Both cool and warm colors are present, and the texture and pigmentation are totally on point.
At only $45 for 6 blushes, this is also an economically sound purchase. It is already sold out on Urban Decay’s website, but still seems to be available from Sephora and Macy’s.
Also released for Spring were 6 lipsticks and liners, and I’m curious to see if this collaboration will go any further. I think Gwen and Urban are a great match, and while not everyone loved the eyeshadow palette, the collection has proven to be pretty popular. I think they could really keep this partnership going for awhile! Maybe some false lashes, highlighters, or glosses are on the horizon? We’ll see!
