It’s Play Time Again!

My toddler loves to play, of course. It’s so much fun to watch him run around and try out different toys, make noise, and continually learn about the world around him.

That same unbridled excitement is exactly what I feel when I open Sephora’s Play! box each month! Exploring 6 or 7 new products at a time is my idea of heaven ?.

While I’ve been critical in the past, I’ll say right off the bat that this month’s box is my favorite so far!

I don’t think I’ve mentioned them before, but Dr. Brandt’s Alpha Beta peels are some of my all-time favorite skin products. The name comes from the exfoliating alpha- and beta hydroxy acids present in the peel. This box came with 3 of the 2-step peels in Original Strength, which is great for regular maintenance and first-time peel users. The first step is the one containing those acids, made to totally refine skin tone and texture. After sweeping the saturated pad all over your face, neck, and décolleté, you wait a few minutes to let the product work its magic before you swipe on step 2. This pad contains neutralizers that stop the acids in their tracks. This way, you get all the benefits of a professional peel, with none of the peeling or burning!

Also included was one of Sephora’s sheet masks, this time for eyes. This green tea-infused eye mask de-puffs, brightens, and smooths the under eye area. I love to use these before a long day when you know you really need that concealer to go on smooth and stay flawless-looking all day.

Continuing clockwise, you’ll see Clinique’s chubby highlighting stick. I’m SO HAPPY with this one, that I think it deserves its own review. Just be patient, and know for now that it’s fabulous!

Next up is Living Proof’s Prime Style Extending Spray. I’m going to be honest with you- I’m not super into hair care. My hair is fine, wavy, and has a mind of its own. I usually just air dry it and leave my mane flowing free, or throw it in a braid or bun. However, if you heat style often, you’ll love this. Spritzing this through your damp hair before blow drying will give you a much longer lasting, sleeker blowout, and allows your other hair lotions and potions to do their thing more efficiently. I have to mention that I don’t love the scent of Living Hair products, but lots of people disagree with me, so maybe my nose is just weird.

Speaking of noses, Isabel from Tocca is one scent I find very pleasant. Tocca has beautiful fragrances, and this is no exception. It has floral, citrus, and notes of Amber and leather, which kind of puts it all over the map. Somehow, it still manages to be delicate and wearable.

Lastly, we have Dr. Brandt’s Needles No More. Consider this cream your alternative to pricy injections, as it gives a faux-Botox effect- no dermatologist or plastic surgeon visit required!

What do you think of January’s box? It looks to me like Sephora started off on a great foot for 2016!
