Let me me set tonight’s scene for you-
My little one is already in bed fighting a virus, and I’m in bed doing the same, with barely enough energy to support my laptop. I don’t want to move, but in between sneezes I can’t help but think about how I’ve been wanting to review this blush palette since the moment I set eyes on it, so here we are! (And for the record, I may be being a tad dramatic. Colds tend to make me that way!)
Up until purchasing this product, I hadn’t tried any of the new Too Faced Love Flush Blushes, so this wardrobe of 6 for $36 was perfect!
The packaging is so cute, but the blushes themselves are pretty tiny. I own about a trillion blushes, so the size isn’t a huge deal for me, but if you want something similar with more product, you might consider the new Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani or NARS palettes that have launched for Spring as well.
To be upfront, I was nervous going into this one. I’ve seen lots of glowing reviews, and lots of unhappy clients too.
You can consider me one of the happy ones! I had heard that these blushes were on the powdery side, but I thought they were beautifully smooth and very finely-milled. Their buttery texture also makes them super blendable!
One complaint does ring true though – these are not NEARLY as pigmented as I would’ve expected, especially considering how well they swatched. It took me several layers to get the color payoff I wanted, and I ended up using two shades (Baby Love & How Deep is Your Love, pictured above) to get the right intensity.
Besides that? We’ve discussed this before, but I’m really, really pale. As a blogger and professional makeup artist, I always think about how the products I use will transition onto my clients, who have a wide range of skin tones. While I’ll certainly keep this palette in my vanity, I can’t see it making its way into my pro kit, as it just doesn’t seem versatile enough.
If you’re a fair lad or lady though, and are digging the swatches you see, make sure you grab this limited edition collection before it’s all gone!
